If I had a dairy cow this post would have probably been 10x better and sounded way cooler but, I don't see that happening anytime soon. ^^,

I wanted to give homemade butter a shot with store bought heavy whipping cream and my Kitchen Aid. I have to say, I am so impressed with how it turned out and most definitely see myself doing this again when I make sourdough for our friend and family get togethers!

I hope you guys enjoy this recipe as much as I did!

Ingredients:

Two Cups Heavy or whipping cream.

1 tsp salt

Kitchen Aid Mixer

Directions:

1. First you will combine the heavy or whipping cream on medium-high in a Kitchen Aid Mixer until you get a whipped cream consistency. After about 5 minute from whipping the cream, the fat and liquid will separate, forming butter and buttermilk.

2. Pour off as much of the buttermilk as you can. I store mine in a mason jar and use it for marinating my chicken! It so good.

3. Scoop the butter into very cold water. Knead and squeeze it to release any remaining buttermilk. Wash in several changes of water until it remains clear.

Pat the butter dry and stir in salt to taste. Start with 1/8 teaspoon and increase as needed.

4. Store in the refrigerator in an air-tight container for about a week or well-wrapped in the freezer for longer.

That’s it! It is so incredibly easy and I guarantee your friends and family will be impressed. I plan on creating a garlic herb butter here soon and Ill make sure I share that process with you all! Check out my Instagram page for the video of me whipping this up.
